![]() I had to search the net like many others to find an easy way to make my own Creations, such as Dolls blinking, blinkies and other things that I will be helping you with. But to tell the truth, most of the tutorial that I found were either to hard or just to complicated. This tutorial is one of my own creations; however, a lot of the techniques used in this tutorial and others on our web site, I have learned from others.....
Ok now we are ready to make our Doll blink with one eye or both, this is up to you. Open your Doll in animation shop, which will be Frame 1 Blow up your Doll (magnify), until you think that you can see the dolls eyes well enough to work with. Make sure that the black that represents the shape of the eye and eyelashes are all black and not some other color such as green or brown. I use the dropper tool to catch the black color, then I use the brush set to the smallest pixel size to replace any other color shades with black. The next thing you should look at is if there are other colors used to represent eye Shadow. You should change this color completely because often the color looks to dark when the doll closes her/his eyes. In this case you can change the color or choose a color that goes with the dolls clothes or outfit that she/he has on. So pick a color of your choose and using the brush set to a small pixel, carefully add the color over her eyes. Oh yeah and make sure not to paint over any of the black. When you feel fine with what you have done, take it to a normal size to see how it looks! (Normal size 1:1) If you are happy with what you see, then you can go to Now blow up the second frame that you have just duplicated. Use the dropper to catch the black color and use the brush set to a small pixel size. You are now going to paint over the dolls eyes or eye. Example: If your doll has green eyes, cover all the green and the white with the black. If your doll has eye shadow, use the dropper again and catch the color you choose for eye shadow. Use this to paint over some of the black, not all of it though.....leave some so you can see that the eye is closed. Take her back to normal view and click on the animation icon so you can get a preview of what she is going to look like. Yippee she is blinking like crazy isnt she?! Use the arrow tool to select the first frame go to A little dialog box will come up. Type in a number of your choose for the delay and press ok. I usually have this number from 40 and up. This will set a delay on the first frame and keep her/his eyes open for longer time. Do the same with the second frame, but choose a much lower number. I think something between 20 and 30 is fine, but you can play around with the delay, and find something you are happy with. OK, now try running the animation again. Much better isnt it?! So make sure that you save it!!! This is what your doll should look like if you are done.
